Manyika and Spence highlight AI’s potential to reverse stagnating productivity growth in advanced economies, stating, “By the beginning of the next decade, the shift to AI could become a leading driver of global prosperity.” However, the authors caution that this economic revolution will require robust policy frameworks to prevent harm and unlock AI’s full potential. Here are the key insights from their analysis: 1. The Great Slowdown The rapid advancements in AI arrive at a critical juncture for the global economy. While technological innovations have surged, productivity growth has stagnated.
